Planning Your Holiday Sales Campaign

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

Black Friday through Cyber Monday is the biggest sales weekend of the year! With BILLIONS of dollars in online sales being made, it’s clear that people are ready and willing to spend money on the things that they want.

How much of those billions do YOU want to make this year? Let me know in the comments. Regardless of what your number is, if you’re a new product entrepreneur, then you have to approach holiday sales seriously and strategically.

This isn’t something that you can just throw together and expect to make a ton of sales. If you want to have a really successful holiday sales season, then you have to: Plan, Prepare & Perform.

Let’s break this down.

Plan: During the planning phase, this is all the background work that is going to tell you exactly what you’re doing. You’re going to figure out what you’re going to sell, who you’re going to sell it to, how you’re going to make this an irresistible

offer, how you’re going to present it, and all the campaign details that will need to be involved.

Planning checklist: Highlight product(s), target audience, irresistible offer, theme, campaign details

Prepare: During the preparation phase, the bulk of your work will be focused on content. By content I mean photos, videos, graphics, social media copywriting, email copywriting, web & ad copywriting too if needed. Everything you’re going to need to get information to your audience and for sales to flow smoothly will be set up during this phase.

Preparation checklist: Goal setting, mapping it out, content planning, content creation, content scheduling

Perform: During the performance phase, everything that you’ve spent time putting together is finally being put in motion. No more talking about it, it’s time to roll everything out to your audience, and really start preparing for those holiday sales to come in. During this phase you’ll want to keep an eye on how well your content is performing so you can make adjustments where necessary.

Performance checklist: Run the campaign, show up, track your progress, adjust, review

They say it takes a potential customer 7 times to see your offer before they make a decision, so starting early and not being shy about your offer are going to have a huge impact on how successful your holiday sales campaign is.
